It has been 4 weeks since my last review
so I have decided to split the two divisions up in to separate posts to catch
up.
As I write this morning Arsenal lost
yesterday to rivals Tottenham bringing their 5 game unbeaten run to an end.
However what will be most worrying for Arsenal is the drying up of the goals
over the last few weeks, they have scored no goals over the last 3 games with
two 0-0 draws preceding the loss to Tottenham.
In the meantime Chelsea have gone from
strength to strength winning all 3 of their games. They won away at Tottenham
4-2, away to Norwich 2-1 before last weekend’s shocking 12-2 win (Yes I did
mean 12) against Aston Villa. Villa were actually 2-0 up after 15 minutes
before Chelsea stunned Villa by going 6-2 up by half time and scoring 6 again in
the second half. Jeremie Boga and Miro Muheim got hat tricks along with braces
for Tammy Abraham and Dominic Solanke. Chelsea 12 - Aston Villa 2
From watching the highlights Solanke and Abraham again showed how difficult
they are to play against.
Boga is 17 years old however is already
established in Chelsea’s U21 team and was also part of Chelsea’s first team
pre-season squad and scoring a goal after a brilliant run from his own half.
Boga came over to Chelsea at U12 level from France and is being earmarked for a
big future, he also made his reserve team debut at the age of 15. Boga Pre-Season Goal
Miro Muheim (Pictured Right) however was brought in by
Chelsea this summer from Swiss side FC Zurich. Muheim is still just 16 years
old and plays anywhere across the attacking midfield.
Since I last wrote Southampton have won
their first game of the season. The win coming last weekend at home to Fulham
where they won 4-0, this came on the
back of the 0-0 draw against Arsenal. Marcus Barnes took his season’s tally to
6 with a hat trick against Fulham.
Marcus (pictured) signed a professional deal with Southampton last year and is the younger
brother of Giles Barnes. Wolves must surely be kicking themselves for letting
him go.
Norwich are the new holders of bottom
spot, with just one win so far this season and this coming on the second
weekend they have had a poor start for 2013’s Youth Cup winners. Last weekend
saw them on the end of a 5-0 loss to Leicester.
Reading have also been on a poor run
since I wrote with a 4-2 loss against West Brom and a 4-0 loss to West Ham.
