Majority of teams have now played three games, with the exception of Fulham and Leicester.
First few weeks have been what I have come to expect from U18s football, some high scoring games, some shocking refereeing decisions but also some great skill, strength and of course goals.
In 35 games so far, there have been 129 goals, average of over 3 per game with 89 different scorers.
If you are not familiar with the set up of the league there are 24 teams in total (all of whom have at least applied if not got Category 1 Academy Status following the EPPP announced a few years ago). There are 15 teams from the current Premier League (No Swansea, Burnley, Hull, QPR or Crystal Palace) and 9 from the Championship. The 24 teams are split into North and South Divisions where they will place each team home and away.
North Division:
Blackburn Rovers Bolton Wanderers Derby County Everton
Liverpool Manchester City Manchester United Middlesbrough
Newcastle United Sunderland Stoke City Wolverhampton Wanderers
South Division:
Arsenal Aston Villa Brighton & Hove Albion Chelsea
Fulham Leicester City Norwich City Reading
Southampton Tottenham Hotspur West Bromwich Albion West Ham United
Once the 22 games have been played, the top four clubs from the northern and southern division will play each other in Group A. Clubs from 5th place to 8th place will form Group B, with clubs placed 9th - 12th in Group C.
North Division
Man City have started the season well having won their first 3 games. Them and Stoke (P3, W2, D1) are the only unbeaten sides already.
Man City started the season with a 4-1 win away at Blackburn which I saw. Man City have some quick players and some very big, strong lads at the back. They were very good going forward, admittedly against a poor Rovers defence, and whilst did look a bit shaky from time to time at the back they ran out convincing winners.
Stoke meanwhile have probably picked up result of the season so far with a crushing 7-1 victory on the opening day against Liverpool at home. However I understand that Liverpool's main U18 squad were played Real Madrid in Holland that weekend also so a slight reason for the result.

I also went to watch Bolton v Blackburn the 2nd weekend of the season, whilst Rovers lost convincingly again they caused Bolton some problems at start of the second half when only 2-1 and 3-1 down however couldn't take their chances, something Bolton did extremely well. Jamie Thomas scoring 4 that morning.

South Division
Arsenal, West Brom & Brighton are the leaders so far in the South with records of P3, W2, L1 however Tottenham, West Ham (Both P3, W1, D2) and Leicester (P2, D2) are the only unbeaten sides left in the South.
Arsenal have picked up two big wins beating Brighton 4-0 away and Chelsea 5-1 at home before losing to Aston Villa in their latest game 3-2. Of Arsenal's 11 goals 8 have been shared by Tyrell Robinson and Stephy Mavididi. http://arsenalyouth.wordpress.com/ say that Robinson is a left winger whilst Mavididi is a winger/striker, Mavididi only scored 5 in the whole of last season from 17 games, both boys are English apparently with Mavididi only just turning 16 in May 2014.
